The Rotorua District Choir’s next concert will be performed under the baton of conductor Evelyn Falconer and is based around mainly American music by living composers, performances of challenge and beauty. Interesting to note is New Zealand’s composer, David Hamilton’s composition for a Latin Mass and “Prayer” scripted by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, put to music composed by the American René Clauson.

Lauridsen’s compositions which complete the concert are a four song cycle based on Nocturnes with the beautiful “Sure on This Shining Night” giving us the name of the concert.

The choir will be accompanied by Pianist Alex (Alexandra) Wiltshire of Taupo, Cellist Rotorua’s Sarah Jans, Violinist Anne Jaquiery and will also feature Soloist Emma Cronshaw-Hunt.

Welcome. We know you will enjoy the beauty of this music – and please note the change from our usual performance days. This concert's performances are on Friday evening and saturday afternoon.

Entry by Programme - $15.00
Students - Free
