A beautiful collection of waiata composed by Carol Storey are sung in Te Reo Maori and in English with a six-piece band.

Tirama perform a bi - lingual collection of waiata in Te Reo Maori and English composed by local singer songwriter Carol Storey.

Carol's debut album Mokomoko (2007) is steeped in the narratives of her tribal homeland, Opotiki and the tikanga of her iwi Te Whakatohea. The songs display a unique, smooth vocal style based around the acoustic guitar and the sounds of taonga puoro (Maori musical instruments). Mokomoko won Best Traditional Maori Album at the 2008 Waiata Maori awards. Vocal harmonies are a feature of the work along with superb musicianship from some of New Zealand’s finest musicians.
