It's back! The wonderful "Tower Tutus on Tour" is coming back to Kāpiti!

The Kāpiti Coast District Council is delighted to support the visit of the Royal New Zealand Ballet to Southward Theatre, for one performance only. This is a wonderful opportunity to see a fantastic performance right here in our own District. Take the family for a fun and fabulous night out!

The Royal New Zealand Ballet returns to its roots in its 60th birthday year with a 47 centre tour of heartland New Zealand. The ulitmate "tiki tour" stops for just one performance in Kāpiti, at Southward Theatre on Sunday 17 November.

In celebration of its rich past and lively present, the Ballet performs a selection of highlights and hits from the company's repertory, including excerpts from "Flower Festival at Genzano", "FrENZy", "Through to You", "Little Improvisations" and "Don Quixote". With music from Schumann to Split Enz, amazing sets and choreography, these are absolute treats.

RNZB dancers-turned-choreographers Brendan Bradshaw and Catherine Eddy create a sparkling version of Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf ". This magical work is suitable for audiences of all ages and is the perfect introduction to classical music and live dance. A new recording of Prokofiev's score will be made by Orchestra Wellington, complete with a special narration by Te Radar.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all Kāpiti Coast residents and visitors to enjoy the very best of ballet from their very own ballet company.

This tour gives the audience a chance to see the virtuosity and versatility of Royal New Zealand Ballet dancers performing 150 years of ballet from in one night. Artistic Director Ethan Stiefel says that "if any ballet program could define the phase 'something for everyone' this show just might get as close as one can get."
