It’s ten months since the release of Donna Dean’s 2013 Best Country Album nominated ‘Tyre Tracks & Broken Hearts’. She promoted it first in Melbourne, Australia where she’s lived the last 2 years. She toured it across the Southwest US in September through Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and California with a final gig at the pinnacle of Americana songwriter venues, ‘The Bluebird Café’ Nashville, Tennessee (with a small group of Australian songwriters including Aussie legend, Paul Kelly).

Donna ends her 2013 ‘Tyre Tracks’ tour with intimate shows in Auckland, Napier, Wairarapa, Wellington, Picton, Blemheim and Golden Bay. All but the Auckland gig will be solo. Saving the best til last, here’s an opportunity for a special evening with a much respected Americana-Kiwi artist.

“Not many artists have the imaginations of a Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. Or the creative lunacy of a John Prine, Randy Newman or Tom Waits. Singer, songwriter Donna Dean is deserving of gaining that momentum that’s needed to take center stage”. - No Depression, USA

“She writes with the economy of musicians like James McMurtry and Dolly Parton, and authors like Appalachia’s Ron Rash, in that she can sketch a story in a few words, or a phrase which resonates”. - Graham Reid, Elsewhere NZ

“Needless to say, you don’t attract the attention of musicians like these - Albert Lee, Amos Garrett, Redd Volkaert and Gurf Morlix - without having something worthwhile to bring to the table. Dean is a masterful songwriter whose best work packs a real emotional punch” - Karl Du Fresne, Journalist NZ
