Urbantramper combine sounds from the '80s, '90s and tomorrow to create the soundtrack to the future we forgot. With driving grooves, warm synth lines, and majestic harmonies, the live show is a truly glorious experience.
The band is set to celebrate their 10th birthday by taking their electricutopia music down south for the summer.
Urbantramper released their new album Internet Freedom Is Love in May 2012. The critics were unanimous in their praise:
"Beautifully executed dreamy electro-pop collection" (NZ Herald)
"Makes you realise meaningful pop music is alive and well in New Zealand" (Sunday Star Times)
"Another inspiring offering from one of the most original acts around." (NZ Musician)
"Achingly beautiful" (Otago Daily Times)
The dates are hazy but it's safe to say Urbantramper has been releasing records and playing shows for at least 10 years. The first EPs Natronics and Simple Complexity came out in 2002. Then followed the albums To the Future on Foot (2004), The Treeninja Always Gets Through (2005), Tokon & the Colours (2007), Rise & Ride Toward... (2009), The Workers' Album (2010) and the 2012 release Internet Freedom is Love.
