As you may have heard the Percy Burn Viaduct on the South Coast Track is due to be closed off from public access in the near future. Yes, this is very sad, so we have put together this event to get people out and visit the Percy Burn Viaduct before it closes. We have invited Warren Bird, author of Viaducts Against the Sky, to come down south and join us at Port Craig. We are excited for him to come and share his wealth of knowledge and passion of this area with us all!
The Percy Burn Viaduct is the largest surviving wooden viaduct in the world and we are very fortunate to have it in our part of Fiordland paradise! This significant historic structure is something to be seen and admired standing 36m high and 125m long.
Warren Bird, author and civil engineer, has a wealth of knowledge and passion towards this area of the countries engineering heritage.
