Grammy nominated Kiwi country singer Peter Caulton presents an evening of Johnny Cash music. The show features songs from Mr Cash`s 48 year career. Peter has performed this show over the last 8 years at major events in Europe and is now bringing it back home. There are many songs we all know in the show and some songs that people might not have realised John recorded.
Some of the material Johnny recorded in his later years, from his Grammy Award winning American Recordings, were never performed live on stage by Johnny due to his failing health. You can hear some of those songs performed live in this respectful tribute by Peter Caulton.
Peter has been a professional entertainer for over 30 years performing in over 20 countries and featured on some of New Zealands earlier country music TV shows. He has performed on shows with Emmy Lou Harris, Jerry Jeff Walker, Don Williams, Heather Miles, Dave Dudley, Kenny Rogers, The Burrito Brothers, George Hamilton the IV and Slim Whitman to name a few.
The show features songs from the entire career of John from his early Sun Record years, his hugely successful prison albums, out selling the Beatles world wide at the time, his ground breaking television show, his involvement with the "Highwayman" project with Waylon Jennings,Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson and songs from his later hugely successful American Recordings until his passing and beyond. His never say die spirit lives on in a Cd released after his death “Ain`t No Grave Can Hold My Body Down”
This is a show for any age group who love songs with substance that touch the heart and soul. A joyous celebration of the music of a show business icon.
Cash is cool.
