"I will talk about the meaning of creativity and demonstrate how to be creative, as I see it, mainly around the Potters Wheel."

Japan born, Takeshi Yasuda is, without doubt, one of the world's leading exponents of creativity on the wheel. He has developed and made constant changes to his work over some fifty years of making via a sensitive response to what he observes happening and a deep knowledge and respect for the histories and cultures within one of the oldest art forms known. His work is sought after and collected around the world. He is in New Zealand as judge for the Portage Ceramic Awards and his concurrent personal exhibition at Te Uru – gallery for contemporary art, in Titirangi, Auckland.
