China – a country with 5000-year-long civilization.

From Saturday 19 April to Sunday 4 May kids of all ages can explore some of China’s ancient traditions and customs.

Hey Kids! Ever wondered how Chinese princesses dressed or what an emperor wore? Try on some of these traditional clothes, wander around the Garden, and ask Mum or Dad to take your photo. There will also be a Qi Gong workshop for you and your family to try this martial art technique which was developed in China more than 4000 years ago. Give the Chinese traditional games in the courtyard a go and spend some time in the Tower Room with puzzles, games and craft activities. Book lovers and avid readers can explore ancient China in the reading corner in the Tower Room.

Learn more about the Great Wall of China and help us grow our great wall of friendship by adding a brick to it dedicated to your best friend.

And, as always, there will be a hunt and quiz around the Garden (with prizes) and Panda will be coming to the party, too!
