Cathy Irons (violin) and Flavio Villani (piano) present a flamboyant programme of romantic and 20th century repertoire. The Christchurch-Auckland duo have been performing together since 2012 and enjoy exploring repertoire that is expressive, virtuoso and dynamic.

Cathy Irons played in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestra in South Africa and is currently a first violinist and the Outreach and Education Co-ordinator for the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. She has broadcast on South African and NZ radio and TV and regularly performs concerts throughout NZ. She played as part of a quartet at the NZ Embassy in Japan in 2012 and has performed as a featured artist in Arts Festivals in Christchurch and Nelson, and at the Dunedin Fringe Festival. In 2014, she was invited and performed a program of contemporary NZ and Australian music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Flavio Villani completed Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance with Mo Matteo Napoli at the Salerno Conservatory “G.Martucci” (Italy) in 2007 and a Master in Piano Performance with First Class Honours at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) under the guidance of pianist Stephen De Pledge. In 2011 he was invited to play at the Venice Biennale in Italy for the exhibition and installation of the New Zealand pavilion. Villani played for the Lamezia Festival in both 2013 and 2014. He played for the international Pianino Festival of the Cella Chopin and George Sand in Mallorca, he opened the Maggiociondolo Festival in Alessandria and played for other organizations in Salerno, Roma and Barcelona.
