The Friends of Hutt City Libraries and Lower Hutt Memorial RSA present authors Damien Fenton, Gavin McLean, Jock Phillips and Jane Tolerton, with chairman Richard Langston speaking about their writing and World War I.

Damien Fenton is an Honorary Research Fellow at Massey university and is the author of 'New Zealand and the First World War : 1914-1919' a dynamic book illustrating 50 key episodes of our wartime life.

Gavin McLean is the Senior Historian at the Ministry for Culture and Heritage and a prolific author New Zealand history including the books 'Frontier of dreams : the story of New Zealand' and 'The white ships : New Zealand's First World War hospital ships'.

Jock Phillips is the Senior Editor at Te Ara the Encyclopedia of New Zealand. He’s written and edited books on a variety of subjects including 'A unique sort of battle : New Zealanders remember Crete' and is very active in online publishing and blogging.

Jane Tolerton is a biographer, journalist and educator. She wrote the extremely well received 'Ettie : a life of Ettie Rout' and more recently 'An awfully big adventure : New Zealand World War One veterans tell their stories'.

Richard Langstone is a freelance journalist who has previously worked as a reporter for TV3, Radio New Zealand, Sunday Star Times and more.
