Based on the global best seller, Business Model Generation, by Alex Osterwalder, this workshop will help you reimagine and revitalise your business using the business model canvas.

You’ll get to learn all about the canvas - it’s anatomy, language, meaning and definitions. Then you’ll explore some common business models including new disruptive ones enabled by the internet and Apple’s Touch ID.

The business model canvas is essentially a creative tool which lets you explore new businesses models in the safety of an A3 piece of paper! You’ll get to model some New Zealand businesses including your own. We will also work with some hypothetical scenarios to help you deepen your understanding of the tools.

We will also cover Alex’s new book, Value Proposition Design. Your value proposition is at the core of the canvas, in fact it’s the ‘pivot’ point of the canvas. It is critical to get the right so we will be taking you through all the new tools contained in this book.

A mix of presentation, Q&A, plus hands-on with the tools, will make for an exciting, practical and impactful workshop. Remember - Status Quo lives in the office, and everyone’s saying that we need to get out more, so here’s your chance!

Your Coach

Greg Menendez is a brand architect, strategist, creative and coach. He has helped to create, launch and grow brands both here in New Zealand and around the world. He has worked with large global brands right down to the smallest of start ups. Strategy forms a large part of Greg’s work and the business model canvas is his go-to tool for business strategy.

Previously the Marketing Director at Nike New Zealand, he knows a lot about brands and innovation. He also worked for or with brands such as Apple, Vodafone, Telecom (now Spark), Dell and Phoenix Organics. Greg has been trained in the Business Model Canvas and the Value Proposition tools. He attended a 2-day workshop on the canvas led by its author Alex Osterwalder in San Francisco.
