In a two-week long celebration of Capital E and the local artists and performers we love, these holidays bring you a parade of workshops and fun under one roof! There will be workshops featuring art, dance, sculptures and storytelling – read on for more details.

Leave Your Mark
Drop in to our new-look space, E Central and you could become world famous in Wellington! If you are a budding young artist or designer it's time to leave your mark and give our new space that extra magic. Contribute to our larger than-life evolving mural or take to the craft table and get down on paper what Capital E means to you. Paint a picture, create a collage or pen a poem... it's up to you! The top 20 designs will not only win a prize, but they will feature in E Central for everyone to admire for years to come.

The Capital E new look central space( unveiled 6th July) will be open to the public every day of the school holidays! Drop in any time between 10am-4pm

Windswept Wonders
Inspired by Wellington's wind sculptures,Tower of Light and Urban Forest, art teacher Karen Carey will help you create and decorate your own wind-driven sculpture and art work. Experiment with movement, shapes and patterns and learn everything about printing and colour in this fun hands-on hour.

Balloon Costumes
Think making balloon animals is fun? How about designing your very own balloon costume? New Zealand's most sought-after event entertainers, Highly Flammable, will teach you the fabulous art of balloons and costumes combined.

Snatch and Throw Dance

Listen to stories and sing-a-long with renowned children's author, Juliette MacIver as she tells tales from a selection of her world famous books. Enjoy Marmaduke Duck and the Marmalade Jam, The Frog Who Lost His Underpants and more, then take part in a selection of activities to inspire budding writers and artists alike.
