The Unofficial and Unauthorised Guide to Doctor Who in Comics: 1964-1979
Come and celebrate the 51st anniversary of Doctor Who with Paul Scoones, an Auckland-based expert on the series.
Paul Scoones has turned a life-long passion for sci-fi TV series Doctor Who into a profession. Paul's book, The comic strip companion: 1964-1979, is a detailed guide to the early years of Doctor Who in comics.
Paul has written production text commentaries for the BBC’s Doctor Who DVDs and appears in several DVD documentaries.
Paul was the founder and longest-serving editor of an award-winning New Zealand Doctor Who fanzine, Time Space Visualiser (1987-2009). He was involved in the discovery of a lost 1960s episode of Doctor Who in Auckland, and arranged its return to the BBC in 1999.
Doctor Who is the world’s longest-running science fiction television programme. To celebrate the 51st anniversary of Doctor Who, Paul will give a talk about this popular series, as well as his work as a researcher and writer.
