Bay of Islands Tall Ship Voyage

We are frequently asked do we have any sail training voyages for adults – they want to experience what our sail trainees do…. although we wonder if they really, really want Captain Uncle Steve waking them at 0700 for their early morning swim!

Anyway, we’ve decided to let the grown-ups take over the ship and undertake a short sail training voyage of their own, exploring the beautiful Bay of Islands, and visiting the legendary Whangamumu whaling station. This is a route, albeit shortened, which is well trodden by the ship and her sail trainees. Now is your chance to follow in their wake and experience how they feel.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity to muck in and help prepare meals, wash dishes and do the chores but mercifully as the voyage is only scheduled for 2 days, the novelty won’t wear off before you are safe back home at Opua, back to a comfortable bed and hot bath.

Applicants will need to complete a medical and consent form prior to acceptance and should have the physical ability to cope with a sailing adventure on board a tall ship. Berths are bunk style and shared toilet/shower is available on board.

Book early to avoid disappointment, as there will only be a maximum of 10 places available.
