Cook Comedy returns in 2014
Jan Maree hosts Simon McKinney and John Carr

John Carr
Better known in Otahuhu as the J Doggg or The Godfather of Geriatric Rap, John Carr is the first performer to make to make the difficult transition from hard edged street rap to stand-up comedy without missing a beat.Giving up a 55 year quest to be taken seriously, Carr joined the world of stand-up comedy in 2010 and hasn't looked back. He has become a popular performer in Auckland, has a cult following in Hamilton, and gets completely ignored by audiences in Browns Bay.

Simon McKinney
Kiwi funnyman and mimic, fresh off his nationwide tour with Michael Winslow (the Police Academy sound effects guy)

Simon is one of NZs most multi-talented professional comedians.

Simons unique skills have seen him become recognized as New Zealand's leading and award winning stand up impressionist and a much sought after comedian for both live, touring and corporate performances. His impressions of TV celebrities, the famous and infamous and of course his iconic kiwi characters, the "kiwi lady", "that drunk guy" are now so well recognised they themselves are mimicked by the NZ public.

At the 2011 NZ International Comedy Festival, Simon was nominated for the Festival's supreme award "The Fred" for his solo show "People".

He is also a past Billy T Award Nominee, 2007 winner of the NZ Comedy Guild "Best Male Comedian" and in 2010 received the "Reilly Comedy Award" from the Variety Artists of New Zealand.

Simon has also appeared on numerous television shows including "Pulp Comedy", many "Comedy Gala's, appearances on TV3's "AotearoHA" and TVNZ's "A Night At The Classic", "NZ Variety Show" and "Comedy Christmas Cracker".

Jan Maree hosts the show and has been doing so for ten years! See you at The Home of Live Comedy in Hamilton!
