All the Indian Food lovers in Wellington are in for a treat at the end of this month. Yes – the annual temple fund raising dinner organised by the New Zealand Hindu Association has gone bigger and better.

This year’s Curry Fest will be almost a day-long affair starting at 10 am and finishing at 6.30, enabling the public to walk in and enjoy the food at any time suited to them.

One can choose from a group of snacks (North or South Indian variety), a main course meal and a dessert selection.

The vegetarian items on offer are bewildering in their variety – from the classical Dosa and Wada of the South India to the stylish Chaat items of North India; Kormas and curry to Jalebis and Kulfi (Indian Ice cream).

Each pre-booked ticket costing $20 (concessions for children and senior citizens) entitles the buyer to a snack coupon (3 snacks from any one group), a meal coupon (which could be swapped for a snack coupon if one wishes) and a dessert coupon. Once bought, these coupons are valid throughout the day.
