Introductory talk and meditation

Buddhism does not say that “Life is suffering” as some people think. What Buddhism says is: how we conduct ourselves and how we see the world, how we interact with others causes suffering. This is why some suffer more than others.

According to Buddhist teachings , much of the suffering that we experience is actually brought on by too much reflection on our own experiences, which is to say that thinking about our own experiences too much causes more confusion in the mind.

With more confusion comes more disturbances. We become confused so we become more disturbed because we are unable to see a way out, therefore it simply becomes too overwhelming.

Ani Jangchub Lhamo is a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition, In 2004 under instructions from her teacher, the 9th Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche,
Ani-la reluctantly agreed to Rinpoche’s request to speak on various points of Buddhism, its Philosophy and its Practices.

Venerable Jangchub is of Maori/Samoan descent and presently the resident  nun at Nyima Tashi Kagyu Buddhist centre located in the Ponsonby/Grey Lynn area.

Ani Jangchub’s formative years lay in the study of Christian Theology, primarily liturgy, ethics and pastoral care, which has given her the opportunity to become more familiar with both traditions.
