The Pumphouse Theatre and I'm Not Content Productions present Dark Mondays. Brought to you with assistance from Creative Communities.

Monday nights at theatres are traditionally 'dark' - meaning no performances take place.

Dark Mondays aims to change that with a monthly Playreading and Creative Networking event hosted at The Pumphouse Theatre!

Local playwrights can submit their full length scripts to DM and those selected will be assigned a Director and professional cast. The script will be rehearsed and then read live in front of an audience on Monday night! A discussion forum is hosted after each reading allowing the audience to contribute to Orignal Kiwi Theatre as it is developed!

The aim of a playreading is to assist playwrights in developing their scripts; hearing how their words play in front of an audience and discovering ways in which their script could be edited and reworked for their next draft.

The PumpHouse is calling for both fledgling and established writers, directors and actors to become a part of Dark Mondays! Writers are invited to submit new plays for reading. Directors and Actors will form the talent pool performing the readings. If you are interested in receiving updates about opportunities through Dark Mondays, please email the address below.

If you have anything from a first draft or more, and are looking for venue to stage a read-through, complete with directed actors, please email your scripts to the address below. Preferred script lengths of 60 to 90 pages.

Dark Mondays also aims to host industry workshops and talks by guest speakers for writers, directors and actors.
