Inspired by his Chinese and Māori heritage, Dion Hitchens’ exhibition Bai Hu features works that are inspired by shadow puppetry and sculptural works. In the Chinese creation story, Bai Hu is the guardian of the west pillar that holds up the heavens. Matariki is one of the constellations that represent him.
One of two exhibitions this month at Corban Estate Arts Centre to celebrate the arrival of Matariki.
Accompanied by two public events:
- Artist Talk: Saturday 12 July, 11am
- Kids Art Workshop: Saturday 19 July, 11am
