Dr John Campbell is a 'solid state' physicist who, for 30 years lectured in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Canterbury. He is the author of 'Rutherford - Scientist Supreme' and he runs the 'Ask a Scientist' programme which has resulted in 100,000 column centimetres of science in New Zealand newspapers. He has awards for communicating science to the public. His hobby is fire-walking!
