AIR - Photography of this land's utter glory

Ebony Lamb was born in Tauranga Hospital 1979. Raised on the rolling hills & harsh coasts of Hawkes Bay. Began taking photographs on an old Russian Zenit her father gave her. Learned black & white film photography and darkroom techniques under mentorship from John Williams in 1997. Documented the later years of youth, landscapes & people, which culminated in her first exhibition at eighteen years old.

Reaching out to record the world around her - people, land, sea, and air - as a means of living with an ounce of acceptance within the heavy presence of the city. Preferring natural light, seeking the apparent simpleness of both land & sky, a 'scape' of perfection in its imperfection & a glory of where we live. This is her first exhibition in 16 years, and she thanks you for being here.

Ebony lives in Aro Valley, Wellington and is a worker and mother, and is the singer/songwriter for the alt-country band Eb&Sparrow.

All prints were shot on 35mm film and professionally rendered by DAC Plimmerton
