Why do we gossip and watch soaps? Why are we moral (sometimes)? How do we choose our mates? Why can’t a man be more like a woman and vice versa?

This course examines humanity’s evolutionary past and how it continues to shape our daily activities today. This course is for anyone who is interested in evolutionary biology. Familiarity with the topic is helpful but not necessary.

This lecture series is held every Thursday evening over eight weeks (2 October to 20 November). Most two-hour sessions cover two topics (one per hour) although the last one recaps the previous lectures with questions and answers. There is a short break half-way through each session, and you are welcome to bring refreshments if you wish.
