Welcome to the third presentation of the The Films in Our Lives, a fascinating three-part Screen and Media series, which is open to all members of the public who have a passion for the art of film and who wish to experience and understand different aspects of the medium through a group of informed presenters.

The Films of Our Lives series presents a three-way look at the Hitchcock film, North by Northwest: Auteur/Actor/ Audience:

What makes a classic? Why do audiences champion one movie over another? What are the pleasures of the text? Three responses to Alfred Hitchcock's 1959 masterpiece North by Northwest from three distinctive points of view. Auteurist Dr Richard Swainson, Cary Grant fanatic Janine Betts and Film Society stalwart Andrea Haines wax lyrical about a favoured film. Free Entry- light refreshments.
