Flaxwood Festival is a smoke-free-fun-day of music held at a private venue on mounds and grass verges. Guests have a choice of positions, bringing their own food, refreshments, rugs/deck chairs etc.. The Festival's mission is to support Canterbury relief organisations and to help those who are in distress, or require assistance not available through more usual support channels.

100% for charity - proceeds go primarily to the Westpac Chopper, but also to the Woolston Brass, and the One-2-One Charitable Trust. Prominent local philanthropist and recipient of many honours, Adrienne, Lady Stewart is the Festival's Patron.

Peter "PC" Caulton returns home, after more than 25 years as a professional musician in Europe, to present his acclaimed "Ring of Fire" Johnny Cash tribute show. Two iconic 60s rock groups - Laredo Nitespot heroes, Johnny Campbell and The Detours, plus export sensations, Peter Nelson and The Castaways, will reunite for the day. The Woolston Brass will perform traditional band, and contemporary show music. John Dunne will again welcome guests from 11:30 through to the start of the concert at 1:00pm, concluding at 6:00pm. Please Note:
In the event of unacceptably inclement weather on Festival day, the Festival may be rescheduled to the following Sunday. Should that day also prove to be untenable, the Festival will be abandoned and all ticket proceeds will be considered to be donations, and distributed to the stipulated charities.
No refund will be given.
