The Friends of the Taupo Museum invite you to join them in welcoming Kevin Snowdon speaker for the lunchtime talk on Tuesday 18 February 2014

Kevin has lived in Taupo since 1999 and is really interested in and committed to rural based business that creates wealth, improves the way we live on earth, as well as having positive social outcomes.

A forester with 20 years planning, managing and valuing forests, Kevin has worked in places like Thames, Pureora, Waitangi, Minginui, Napier, Masterton and Rotorua. His last forest plantation job was at Tongariro Rangipo Prison where he began a Masters In Management, focussed on governance, strategy and entrepreneurship. During his time there he helped start 15 new business units in 3 years, all dedicated to establishing, providing and maintaining low capital, high labour content business units where inmates could be rehabilitated. He wrote his thesis on the governance of land use change – as applied to Lake Taupo.

Since 2006 Kevin has worked in biotechnology as feedstock manager, General Manager NZ, and continues an interest in that field and in 2012 he began working in clean energy business development as the Manager of Heaven’s Power Solutions Ltd, NZCEC.
