In support of their inaugural, E.P, Halo of Ashes invades Wellington. Bringing you an evening of no-nonsense rock and roll along with The Whiskey Show, TYPE II and Dollhouse.

Halo of Ashes’ unique blend of melody and ferocity has only burgeoned since the July 2013 release of the band’s inaugural effort, “Innocence”. Now focusing on bigger and brighter horizons, the band has been hitting local stages across the country in preparation for their first full-length record.
Coming to life in April 2009, Halo of Ashes’ first few years consisted primarily of recording demos and plotting musical world-domination. It would not be until the end of July 2011 that audiences would get their first taste of what was to come, upon the cohesion of the band’s first full line-up.
Since that time there has been little rest, with the band solidifying an unalloyed sound and unrelenting work ethic which garnered an opening slot for heavy metal icon Tim “Ripper” Owens in June 2012, building toward the release of their debut E.P.
Symbolically, the release of Innocence closed the first chapter of Halo of Ashes’ history and gave way to a ‘rebirth’ of sorts. In September 2013, the introduction of a new drummer sparked an amelioration of the sound and style of the band, reinvigorating Halo of Ashes’ initial credo.

The Whiskey Show is a 4-piece Hard-Rock band from Wellington. We play hard hitting, high energy, dirty old Rock n Roll, for the discerning modern rock listener.
With a list of influences that is wide and varied, our sound is derived from the raw edge classic rock bands spanning the last 40 years.
For us Rock n' Roll goes further than the music. Rocking out and partying with the crowd is as important to us as writing songs and bringing our sound to the world.
On the rocks, neat, however you like it, this is The Whiskey Show.

They have come together from all over New Zealand to give you Type II.
This is a band delivering a true high energy performance in a genre rarely seen, but that will leave you wanting more.

David Andrew, a mysterious rock and roller oozing coolness from small town New Zealand, ravaged from a young age by his ACDC and Motley Crue records, moved to the city to fulfill his rockstar fantasy.
There he met Nick Armstrong, raised on the Ramones, The Pistols and Metallica, spending most of his time entranced by the harmonica and guitar sounds of the blues band at the local West Auckland biker bar. Nick was loud, disrespectful and very angry when drinking-perfect singer material.
The two rode on to their Rock N' Roll destiny.
Johny Doll, the toughest guitarist on the coast, spent his time workign construction and listening to Whitesnake and Guns N' Roses. The city's most thrilling guitarist, when he ran into Nick on Queen Street, they were writing riffs days later.
But there was a missing link.
They needed a backbeat, when all of a sudden out of the flaming wrecks of the dying world rode, on a steel horse, Auckland's greatest powerhouse drummer on the scene, Shem Stiletto. Playing a kit the size of a mountain, hitting with the power of a thousand Harley Davidson's - Shem was the key to Dollhouse's success.
And out of the mist, four bad boys from a world full of leather, whiskey bottles, motorcycles and guitars, heeeere's Dollhouse!
