A new literary festival for Dunedin with an exciting line-up of top New Zealand and international writers, including a variety of events: readings, conversations, children’s sessions and more.

In Search of Adventure.

Huw Lewis-Jones is an expert in maritime and polar exploration history. His recent books include In Search of the South Pole, which traces our fascination with the Antarctic from the earliest encounters to modern times, and The Conquest of Everest, which brought to a new audience the photographs taken by George Lowe on the first ascent of Mt Everest by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay
60 years ago.

Chaired by local natural historian Neville Peat, this event will enthrall anyone interested in polar exploration, the history of remote expeditions, and characters pushing themselves in inhospitable environments.

Generously supported by the Auckland Writers Festival.
