What makes a successful TED Talk?

TED Talks are just great. For up to 20 minutes we’re captivated by great speakers drawing us into their world and their ideas. How do they do it? We’ll break down the TED approach and understand why it works.

Why stories connect with people

Stories are the next best thing to being there. But how do you tell a great story? What can we learn from Bananas in Pyjamas? Why do leaders need stories to communicate complexity?

Why the words you use matter

The Mehrabian mantra needs to be challenged: 55% of what you communicate is non-verbal; 38% is tone of voice; and only 7% is words.

We reckon these statistics underestimate the importance of words. So, we’ll look at pronouns, what words say about us as speakers and the way to use words powerfully.

You’ll take away up-to-date practical strategies, mindsets and tools you can translate into action.
