This year, the Waipa District Council and the University of Waikato celebrate significant anniversaries (150th and 50th respectively). As part of the celebrations, we're working collaboratively to host a series of public talks - Let’s Talk Waipa.

Let’s Talk Waipa runs for three Saturdays in July, and is a fabulous opportunity for anyone in our community to come along and learn more about Waipa’s fascinating heritage. This series of engaging talks feature a number of insightful speakers, and cover a wide variety of topics.

The public talks will be held between 10:00am-4:00pm on:

Saturday 12 July, History and Historical Characters
Te Awamutu Council Chambers, Ground Floor, 101 Bank Street, Te Awamutu.

Saturday 19 July, Art and Health
Cambridge Town Hall, Victoria Street, Cambridge.

Saturday 26 July, Natural Heritage and Managing Natural Resources
University of Waikato, Room S1.02, Gate One, Knighton Road, Hamilton.
