Reggae Scenes Upcoming artists
Lomez Brown and Urban legacy join forces to bring to you this event

Lomez Brown
is an up and coming, independent reggae artist from Auckland, New Zealand. His self-made debut album “Just so Fyne”, released in June 2012 consists of various original tracks that have gained over 500,000 views via YouTube. Recently, his music has been playing on NIU FM and other local NZ radio stations and has also become available on ITUNES.

Amongst other artists in the same music scene, Lomez is becoming known for his unique style of reggae music. Lomez is renowned for his distinctive vocal flair, harmonies, powerful stage presence and “body swaying” beats. Influenced by bands like ub40, Bob Marley and Eddie Lovette, people describe his music as “feel good, smooth-lovers reggae music”.

A Cook Island/ NZ Maori brother from central Auckland, Lomez played drums and guitar as a youngster but didn’t take music seriously until his early 20’s. Lomez explains, “ I started writing songs to express myself. That’s when I really started to like reggae music. I was naturally drawn to the feel that it gave me”.

Lomez’s past life experiences and present position as a youth worker in Auckland high schools heavily inspire his music. Lomez aims to build facilities in future where young, aspiring musicians can be given an opportunity to pursuit music careers. He believes that “there are so many gifted young people out there, I just want to give them the tools and opportunities that they need”.
