Ron Crosby speaks on "Following in their footsteps" at the Marlborough Book Festival.

Ron is a Marlborough-based author with several books on topics relating to New Zealand history, in particular Maori and military history. Ron has a hands on - or should that be boots on - approach to research. He has tramped through Te Urewera National Park retracing the footsteps of Maori warriors to relocate battle scenes and pa sites. He travelled to Latvia when researching the family history of renowned New Zealand photographer Andris Apse and met Andris’ long lost father. The resulting book was Andris, Where Are You?

Ron’s other titles include The Musket Wars, A History of Inter-Iwi Conflict, 1806-1845; Gilbert Mair - Te Kooti's Nemesis; Albaneta Lost Opportunity at Cassino; NZSAS – The First Fifty Years; and A Desperate Dawn – The Battle for Turuturu Mokai 1868.

Ron will be in conversation with Peter Jerram.
