We have a free screening of Mary Meets Mohammad + plus panel discussion.

This event is the result of a collaboration between Auckland Refugee Council Inc (ARCI), Auckland Museum and UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency). Mary Meets Mohammad is a documentary that highlights the difficulties and issues facing asylum seekers being detained in Hobart and shows the reactions of the locals to their presence in their community.

Following the screening, Clarissa Adriel, who features in the documentary, will be present to do a Q&A.

Dame Susan Devoy will moderate a panel discussion featuring Thomas Albrecht (UNHCR Regional Representative) who will address the audience on issues from a humanitarian perspective. Marian Kleist (Executive Officer of ARCI) will speak about the work they do with asylum seekers.
