Legendary 80s band Mi-Sex perform their first Wellington concert for over 30 years at the Upper Hutt Cossie Club on Friday, March 28. Support act is Opshop’s Jason Kerrison.

Formed in Wellington the now Australian-based Mi-Sex had numerous hits including Computer Games, Blue Day, But You Don’t Care, Graffiti Crimes, People, Space Race, Falling In & Out & It Only Hurts When I am Laughing.
They toured throughout the world performing alongside the likes of Iggy Pop, Cold Chisel, The Angels, Split Enz and The Ramons.

The death of lead singer Steve Gilpin in 1991 resulted in the group disbanding. However, in 2011 they reformed with former Noisework’s member Steve Balbi joining as lead singer . Their first performance was at the “Christchurch Quake Relief Concert” in Melbourne.

Since them they have toured throughout Australia and in March play an outdoor concert in Perth with The Angels and Diesel before returning to New Zealand to play four shows.
