Check out the only nocturnal kiwi house in Northland, the beautiful green gecko and the juvenile tuatara. Learn about our native fauna and what you can do to help them.

Explore the Museum and take some time to view the amazing WW1 commemorative exhibition "The Great War 1914 to 1918 - Northland Remembers", the Moa Cave exhibition and the beauty of Maori taonga - tiki, tools, weapons and korowai (cloak).

Then off to wander the heritage park and visiting the historic buildings including the original 1886 homestead "Glorat", Jane Mander's study, the 1860's octagonal tiny Oruaiti Chapel. Bring a picnic or enjoy 2 great cafes close by.
