Written and directed by Victoria Schmidt, Music and Me is an important work that shares a much needed voice.

Starring Aisea Latu, Jessica Tuivaiti, Junior Misimoa, Raukawa Tuhura and Darren Taniue.

Set in present day South Auckland, Music and Me is a slice of urban kiwiana that gives insight into the gritty world of the Manurewa nightlife. After the turn of the millennium, the growing phenomenon of street prostitution has emerged on the streets of Manurewa, still plagued by youth gangs.

Music and Me reflects a world that runs deeper than the happy, bustling crowds at the popular flea market stalls; and follows the lives of four societal loose-ends with an unexpected kinship, who struggle to make something of their existence.
