The New Year’s Eve party at Hagley Park is the perfect way to greet 2015.

For children, the party starts at 6.30pm with an outdoor cinema screening of the movie Cats and Dogs (PG, low level violence). The Johnny Possum Band will provide entertainment in the lead up to the Kids Early Midnight Countdown at 8.30pm. Bouncy castles, bubbles, lights and confetti cannons will add to the excitement.

Bring along a picnic or get some food from one of the stalls and remember this party is alcohol free.

At 9pm, country music band Remedy performs old classic and contemporary sounds. Their rocking, boot-scooting style is sure to get you dancing.

D’sendantz make a return to the New Year’s Eve stage this year with a blend of Kiwi soul, reggae, rock and funk offering something to suit all tastes.

As the minutes tick closer to midnight, The Black Velvet Band will inject even more energy with traditional and contemporary Celtic songs. Get ready for some foot stomping rock ‘n’ reel.

Count down to midnight and sing along with The Black Velvet Band playing Auld Lang Syne with fantastic fireworks filling the night sky and The Arch Wizard of Canterbury casting a spell for the New Year.

The music continues until 12.30am. Take care driving home and may the New Year bring you happiness.

Parking is available for $3 at Carlton Mill corner, entry off Harper Ave.
