Didn’t you want to be an archaeologist when you were little? Visit this exhibition to learn about what archaeology really is in New Zealand. It does not always involve Egypt and it really does happen in our own backyards! Through the world of archaeology, artefacts and places have a lot to teach us about our history, our stories, where we came from, who we are, our aspirations, our reality, how we choose to live and the decisions we make.

Our world is constantly changing and that seems to be happening a lot in Christchurch at the moment. There is also a lot of archaeology happening and our past is resurfacing. Step into the past and explore recent archaeological discoveries along with the old. Get some inspiration from past endeavours or perhaps have a good hard think about how you use and disposal of the things around you.

About the New Zealand Archaeological Association (NZAA)

The NZAA is an independent national organisation representing the archaeological community in New Zealand. They are a registered charity with a membership spanning internationally respected academics, professional archaeologists and institutions involved or interested in archaeology, students, amateurs and also subscribers to their newsletter Archaeology in New Zealand.

The objectives of the NZAA are to promote and foster research into the archaeology of New Zealand and the Pacific and advocate for the conservation of archaeological sites.
