The Royal Society of New Zealand has recently launched a major review paper about the 2013 census and New Zealand’s changing population, bringing together data and analyses from the 2013 Census and other sources, together with input from a wide range of researchers around the country.

You are invited to this free event to hear a presentation from the Review's authors (Professor Gary Hawke FRSNZ, Dr Tahu Kukutai and Professor Richard Bedford FRSNZ) about what an evolving New Zealand society might look like, what is underlying these changes, and the challenges and opportunities these present. You are also invited to hear the feedback from a panel of experts including Julie Hardaker (The Mayor of Hamilton), Parekawahia McLean (Chief Executive, Waikato Tainui), Professor Natalie Jackson (Professor of Demography, University of Waikato), and introduced by Mr Peter McKinlay, who will be speaking about the potential impacts of the changes in Hamilton, and take part in an audience discussion with the Review's authors and the panel, to discuss the trends and future implications.
