This benefit concert is the perfect opportunity to bind together a variety of community groups, cultural communities and arts groups. This concert features acts from a range of Palmerston North communities such as the Palmerston North City Gospel Choir, The Manawatu Dance Academy and a range of award winning acts such as Adam from Ad-lib and venus in Transit.

Here is a little bit about my background FYI, just to help give a little bit of concert to this project and how Important I believe this event is to both the Palmerston North and the Romanian Arts community.

My name is Daniela Rodica Ana-Maria Brown.
\\ My Story // I was adopted from Romania in 1990 by a NZ couple from Auckland. According to my transcripts, my birthmother was a prostitute and I was born in Jilava jail. I was taken from there when I was 4 months old and was admitted to an orphanage in Bucharest where I was adopted from when I was 3 years old.
I was declared legally abandoned by the state because my birthmother is an elusive one and even after 3 months of searching, my adopted parents still couldn't find her.
I will be going to Romania in April to Brasov and volunteering as an art therapist for 2 months in clinics, orphanages, schools and hospitals working with
groups, individuals and training the staff. Then through that I hope to establish some relationships to then work with the cry of my heart.... The youth disenfranchised by the revolution. People my age who lack the resources to function as a member of society...
So basically the streets kids. Then the last leg of my journey I intend on making a film documenting my relationships I have built with the community and also the potential journey of tracing my roots to my birth family.

All are welcome to the family concert.
