The annual Pat Farry Trust Fun Run & Walk brings communities, healthcare professionals, and the NZ Rural General Practice Network together to highlight the importance and value of Rural GPs and the work of the Pat Farry Rural Health Education Trust.

Previously held in Queenstown (2012) and Rotorua (2013), 2014 sees the Pat Farry Trust Fun Run / Walk come to Wellington.

- Teams or individuals.
- Entries will be taken until 4pm, Friday 14 March 2014.
- Early bird entry closed 10 Feb 2014. (Note only early bird entries are guaranteed a Fun Run + Walk t-shirt guaranteed a Fun Run + Walk t-shirt)
- Active a2b members are also guaranteed a Fun Run + Walk t-shirt with pre-registration

Course and distances:
- The course is along the Wellington Waterfront.
- The event starts and finishes at Shed 6, Queen's Wharf.
- The course is a 5km loop starting at Shed 6 and turning back at the 2.5km mark opposite Grass St on Oriental Parade.
- Walkers complete the loop once (5km), runners complete the loop twice (10km).

6:00am: Collect t-shirts from the registration desk DON'T FORGET YOUR KOHA

6.30am: Pre-race briefing (at the start / finish area.)

6:45am: Warm Up led by New Zealand Defence Force

7:00am: Start

8:00am: Prize-giving

Bad weather:
- In the case of very, very bad weather, the Pat Farry Trust Fun Run & Walk will be postponed until Sunday, 16 March 2014. The call will be made by 7am.

- Medicines NZ have sponsored our 2014 Fun Run & Walk t-shirts. (Early entries are guaranteed to receive them.)
- The New Zealand Medical Association (NZMA) have sponsored race bags with giveaways for entrants from sponsors
- BNZ have kindly supplied the 2014 Fun Run & Walk water bottles for entrants.
- Once you romp on home, stick around for the prize giving. Each year local and national businesses have sponsored or donated spot prizes as well as prizes for the first team and individual home.

About the Pat Farry Rural Health Education Trust:

Visionary leader, highly respected teacher, healer, mentor, tireless advocate and champion of rural health, Dr Pat Farry was unmatched in his efforts and contribution to rural medicine and general practice education. His vision of sustainable and quality health services for rural communities and small towns of New Zealand was through education. He devoted much of his career to advocating and lobbying for improvements and funding for rural medicine. The Pat Farry Rural Health Education Trust was established in March 2010, with the purpose of continuing this legacy.
