Join us for the Japanese Film Evenings for 2014!

Japanese films shown at the University of Auckland are usually screened on the last Thursday or Friday of the month from 7:30pm. The film screening at the University of Waikato are usually held on the second or third Thursday of the month.

The Consulate-General of Japan is proud to announce that Massey University Albany Campus added as our third venue for the Monthly Film Screenings from October 2014. The film screenings at Massey University Albany Campus held on the first Monday of the month at 18:30

Please note that November monthly film screening will be held at Massey University Albany Campus and the University of Waikato only as the largest Japanese Film Festival outside of Japan debuts in Auckland from 6 to 12 November at Rialto Cinemas Newmarket as a part of its international tour. November film "Ponyo "

A film by Academy Award winning director Hayao Miyazaki.

In a small town by the sea lives five year old Sosuke, high on a cliff overlooking the Inland Sea. One morning while playing on the rocky beach below his house, he discovers a goldfish he names Ponyo, her head stuck in a jam jar. Sosuke rescues Ponyo and keeps her in a green plastic bucket. Both Ponyo and Sosuke are fascinated by each other and promise to stay firm friends until Ponyo's father, a sorcerer who lives deep under the sea, forces her to return with him to the ocean depths.

What follows is an amazing underwater adventure for all ages...
