Musician Rachel Dawick was inspired by New Zealand women winning the vote in 1893. She has created a collection of musical tales about our pioneering women and has called this folk musical 'The Boundary Riders'. It is the collective name that Dawick gave to the women in New Zealand during the 1800's whose lives straddled two worlds: one foot bounded in Victorian social customs and values, and the other exploring uncharted territory in a new land far removed from their own.

Bringing together musical theatre, folk, blues, country, jazz, history and literature, her double album is accompanied by a book with a full description of Dawicks research, images and tales from her journey of 2,000km from Cape Reinga to Bluff with her ukelele.
