This concert promises to be very special. It is a fund-raising concert featuring Santiago Cañón Valencia (cello), accompanied by Katherine Austin (piano) . They will be playing works by three Russian composers

- Prokofiev's Sonata for Cello and Piano
- Schnittke's Sonata for Cello and Piano, and
- Shostakovich's Sonata in D minor for Cello and Piano

100% of the ticket price will be go towards helping fund the production of a double-CD that Santiago and Katherine will be recording shortly after the concert on the Atoll label. This recording will be Santiago's second, and will include the above three virtuoso pieces and others.

Our target is to raise $2,500 from the evening. To celebrate the occasion of such a special concert, and also to celebrate Gregor's birthday a few days later, Gregor is donating a very special bottle of wine : a 6 litre bottle of 25-year old Chateau Pavie St Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux wine for everyone attending the concert to enjoy if they wish.

As well known UK wine writer Jancis Robinson said of it recently, "Very hedonist and so soft (though quite refreshing enough) that you could actually drink it without food. " But don't worry: there'll be delicious finger food to accompany this and the other wines that Gregor is donating to this concert!
