School Holiday Fun at Kiwi North:
Something for everyone in this very special place. Combine the attractions of live kiwi, tuatara and gecko, Museum with fabulous permanent and temporary exhibitions, fun programmes with the Kiwi North educator, original heritage buildings, parkland and native bush, vintage restoration and special interest clubs such as Rock and Mineral and Planetarium, train and tractor rides and you have Holiday Magic.

Special exhibitions in the Museum include "The Moa Cave", "Northland Remembers - The Great War 1914/1918", and "Bernina 2014 - Fashion and Wearable Art", plus a wonderful range of Maori taonga.

The Kiwi House provides the only opportunity to see live captive Kiwi in Northland. We will be offering a close up meeting with our young tuatara Monday to Friday at 11.30 (subject to availability).

Help Educator Shirley make teepees and plant them with ornamental gourds, or join in the archaeological dig 10am to 2pm daily Week 1, and 10am to 2pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Week 2 drop into the Education Centre to help build the solar system!

Train and tractor rides Wednesday, Thursday and Friday both weeks, with the mini trains only running on the Wednesdays.

Rock & Mineral Club opens its doors Wednesday, Thursday and Friday both weeks, with a special kids activity day on Wednesday 8th.

And especially for those older members of our communities and those visiting our country we are celebrating International Day of the Older Person Wednesday 1st October with free entry to all seniors - very handy for those sharing holiday time with grandchildren!
