Dan has done it all – Facebook, Bebo, Warcraft, that unfortunate foray on NZDating. Profiles used and deleted. Now he’s ready to reinvent himself. It’s time for a new profile.

However, there’s a hitch.

In order to forge a new identity, Dan has to face up to his internet history: the Bebo emo, Warcraft gamer, and NZDating casanova. They’re cooler, savvier, and shot from more flattering angles. And they’re not going down without a fight.

Second Afterlife is a dark comedy about life (and death) in the digital age. Inspired by Dante’s Inferno, and in the tradition of Scott Pilgrim vs the World, it is a twisted allegory for the facebook generation – a poetic, ass-kicking romp to the darkest corners of web.

Young & Hungry is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and with a production crew of 30 and cast of 40, this year’s Festival is set to be our biggest yet!

Over the past 20 years Young & Hungry has delivered new and innovative NZ plays and our 2014 Festival will continue to push the boundaries with three new plays to devour.

Featuring strange creatures, a sci-fi dystopia, alternate realities, classic gothic fairytales, twisted allegories, epic battles, a hilarious journey to the underbelly of the Internet, and shark monkeys – this fest is not one to miss.

Our young cast and crew can’t wait to share their hard work and crazy antics this season, which runs from 18 July – 2 August at BATS Theatre.

Come along and try something different as we showcase the best young talent in new theatre.
