The score:
Chambers Sessions is going all out for music month bringing in two out of town acts and putting some free surprises on the door for everyone. Once again we're hosting an evening of live music (not nudes), showcasing great homegrown acts in a creative, intimate setting. These nights are focussed on creating a prime playing/listening environment for all.
The bands:
Amiria Grenell - Winner of Tui, Best Folk Album New Zealand Music Awards 2012. In the past year, Amiria has toured Australasia with Fly My Pretties, performed at Kaikoura Roots Fest, Luminate, WOMAD 2012, The Christchurch Jazz Fest & the Nelson Arts Festival.
Great North - Over the last six years, Tui award-winning (2013) band Great North have cemented themselves as one of New Zealand's most accomplished independent acts. Numerous stage performances and two critically acclaimed albums have established them as charming and winsome alt. folk entertainers.
This is also part of Great Norths album release tour! So be sure to bring along a few extra bucks and pick up one of their new albums.
The Art:
When we had session eleven there was a great show by Rebecca Harris, so we thought this month we would showcase one of her works. The work is titled Golden Eye, it was painted this year and we would like you all to enjoy it. This work is also for sale so don't hesitate to get in touch if you like it.
