* A limited number of individual sessions are available with Jason for one-on-one song critiques on the evening of Labour Day, after the workshop. These will be 30-minute private consults. This is for people who are particularly keen to have their work heard by Jason. These will cost $85, with the expectation of 2 or 3 songs being critiqued. The half-hour private consults will run between, and will be located at NMIT (same venue as the afternoon workshop). This is a rare opportunity to work privately with Jason. Please let me know if you’d like to book a slot.

Jason draws on his exceptional songwriting success (more than 50 million album sales—including three “Gold” records and three top 10 singles in the past year) plus his insight and experience as a successful music publisher, record label executive, and production coordinator, to captivate and inspire audiences worldwide. He developed and has been teaching the BMI Songwriter Workshops for nineteen years, and has presented acclaimed masterclasses at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and in locations including Australia, Jamaica, Canada, Norway, Bermuda, Ireland and throughout the U.S..

Author of three of the best-selling books on songwriting (all published by Billboard Books), Jason is best known as Britney Spears’ first co-writer (he also produced her vocal) resulting in recordings on her first two albums, and one of the writers on the Backstreet Boys’ “Millennium” album. But his expertise extends far beyond pop music to encompass success in acoustic/roots; hard rock; R&B; country; positive/spiritual, and instrumental musical. Jason’s successes span the globe and include a #1 single in New Zealand, and a #1 EP in Japan.

As a current hit writer he is uniquely qualified to share practical experience in successfully writing and marketing songs, and placing them in top TV shows and movies (including “Scrubs,” “Friday Night Lights,” and “Assassination Games.”)

Here’s a sample of the feedback received from last year’s New Zealand and Australia workshops:

- Absolutely Brilliant! Is there anyone one the planet more qualified to run such a workshop? I think not. Jason obviously has the experience and credentials required to run these workshops! If / when I make it, Jason will play a large part in my future success!

- This was without doubt the most helpful and insightful song writing tutorial I have ever received.

- It was a very entertaining and informative workshop. very very impressive. u never forget anything he says. he is completely mesmerizing. invaluable.

- Jason’s systematic approach to covering the six steps that he believes are fundamental to a songwriter’s success combined with his energy and enthusiasm make for an unforgettable learning experience. He gives so much of himself to the process both as a writer and a teacher, making him the ideal mentor for aspiring writers.

- Jason Blume's seminar was jam-packed with inspiration to continue refining and improving your songwriting. He was very generous with his business contacts and information and delivered each writer's critiques with encouragement and hints for further development. I look forward to his next seminar and have plenty to study in between with his clearly laid-out resources.

- Jason Blume is a wonderful teacher whose vast experience, knowledge, humor, flair and openness brought an exciting atmosphere to the sessions. His candid approach and genuine interest in his students was refreshing and provided everyone with the opportunity to be heard. Thanks Jason!
