Jennifer Moss Music is excited to present Soul Sounds: Afro-Inspired Music & Dance with Ra McRostie

Ra is an Educator, Community Arts Worker, and Performance Artist.
She shares traditional African dances and rhythms as well as afro-inspired choreography and arrangements, storytelling and song, as a method of expressing joy, creating community and helping individuals heal and grow.

Ra shares her joy of drum and dance through regular classes in Oamaru, and in communities, schools, and festivals all over New Zealand.

Ra is a student of Mohamed Bangoura, Chris Berry, and Epizo Bangoura, and travels as often as she can to other countries to inform and grow her practice.

Deeply respectful and keenly aware that the information she shares comes directly from ancient cultures Ra believes that open-hearted participation can allow access to deeper, subtle wisdom about ourselves and the world we live in. As part of her journey, Ra has explored ceremony and brings this to her teaching in subtle, lighthearted ways.

Ra's classes are high energy, joyous, and inclusive. No experience is necessary.
