Now in its fifth year, Summerfest is a family-friendly afternoon of great tastes - matching great food from the Peninsula with the best of New Zealand beers: Tuatara, Garage Project and Parrot Dog. It’s all accompanied by on-site advice from beer raconteur and National Radio commentator Neil Miller. Summerfest 2014 takes place in the Worser Bay Boating Club, Sunday 23 February, 1-5pm, entry gold coin donation.

Wellington’s Huckle & Co is the newest culinary addition to Miramar Peninsula’s annual boutique food and beer festival, Summerfest, Wellington’s coolest little designer fish ‘n’ chip shop has recently opened in Seatoun and will be adding to Summerfest’s seaside charm alongside Wellington (and Weta’s) favourite Mexican restaurant, La Boca Loca. Summerfest will also be fuelled by the fabulous sounds of Wellington indie band Claude Rains.

Claude Rains is known for their easy-listening alt-country ballads. The band recently drew a large crowd at Summer City’s Garden Magic in the Soundshell. In 2012 they hit the news with their music video set in Avalon Park featuring seemingly surprise appearances by UK actor James Nesbit, as well as other Hobbit cast members.

Perched over the sea in Wellington's picturesque Eastern Bays, Worser Bay’s character boating club is the perfect setting to soak up the views and enjoy Summerfest’s celebration of great summer tastes. For those preferring a less hoppy drop than the beer selection, Hudson Wines will be onsite and La Boca Loca’s margaritas will be adding to the fun as the day rolls on. For children, there’ll be snacks and drinks available throughout the afternoon. There’ll also be beach activities for them with Worser Bay Surf Life Saving Club in attendance.
